Texas

Why Texas?

This might be random but I wanted to pick one final destination after Japan and ever since that American BBQ I had in Taiwan I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I actually didn’t know I had cousins in Texas until recently and I figured I pay them a visit with my cousin Laura.

I had to get my Vietnamese fix in after being in Asia for so long without proper Vietnamese food. We went to a Vietnamese buffet in Houston and was surprised because you don’t hear buffet and Vietnamese together very often
It isn’t Texas until Country road is sung

My cousins hyped up the Buc-ee’s beef brisket sandwich so much I was excited to try it. Buc-ee’s is an Texas gas station and it only has a few locations but it is not an ordinary gas station. This gas station has everything and the washroom was pretty clean. The beef brisket sandwich was SO GOOD and it was only $8. It was probably the best beef brisket sandwich I had in my life and will forever been in my heart.
Torchy’s Tacos. Tacos here are huge and my cousin Laura is in love with this place. Beats any place in Toronto for tacos for sure.
Overhyped sorry
Hong Kong’s waffle fries destroys chick-fil-la hands down
Hopdoddy. Preparing for the best burger in my life. I got the Kobe beef burger it was PERFECT. Each ingredient was perfect and it just hit every spot of my food soul just right.
I will fly to Texas for this
Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken. I’m personally not a fan of this kind of fried chicken but it was pretty dam good. I wouldn’t line up for this place though, if there was one.
Salt Lick BBQ. Best Beef ribs and beef brisket I had in my life. Adamson bbq in Toronto doesn’t even compare. Me and cousin Laura in food heaven
LOOK HOW JUICY THAT IS
Celebrating July 4th with the famous Round Rock Donuts
San Antonio River Walk. I didn’t know San Antonio had a river walk and it surprised me how beautiful it was
Tex mex restaurant on the river walk
This is how I got into K-pop by having it played 24/7
Top Golf. It is like curling but golf and I didn’t know golf was that hard. They serve alcohol while you play and Laura was ordering shots after shots in the middle of the day and the waiter had to stop her.
Just wanted to say THANK YOU for hosting me and my cousin Laura. It was so nice of y’all to take time off to show us around and dealing with our food craziness.
The long lost cousins. Shoutout to Brian for driving us everywhere!!

Thoughts on Texas

I had such an amazing time in Texas because of the people I was with and after being able to spent so much time with my long lost cousins I really wished they were in Toronto. Texas itself is really similar to any other North American city but the only difference is the unhealthy food did not disappoint.
